- Fire, the wheel, and electricity were all great developments, but they were merely necessary steps along the path that created the conditions for animated GIF search to exist. Now you can experience the pinnacle of human technological advancement in Signal Desktop with a brand-new selection interface that makes it easy to quickly find an emoji, sticker, or animated GIF that's perfect for the moment.+
- We also resized the picture-in-picture window and added convenient new shortcuts to mute/unmute your microphone or turn the camera on/off while a call is minimized.
- If you link a new Desktop on Signal Android and choose to transfer your message history, now you can also selectively transfer old attachments from your primary device too. Bring the past into the present by scrolling back in time and clicking on the download icon. As always, the transfer process is end-to-end encrypted and secure.

**Summary**
- IBus now supports the Wayland input-method protocol v2. See
[this](https://github.com/ibus/ibus/wiki/WaylandDesktop) for
configuration details.
- New option ibus start `--type wayland` is available and also
`--verbose` option to see the detail
- Additional Wayland input-method; XIM and GTK2, Key repeating, Compose;
- Call IBus.init() importing Python IBus module
- Bug fixes of Wayland features
**Packager Note**
It was recommended to update to the pre-release version ahead of the
full release for two reasons:
1. The new protocol support is important for desktops.
2. Due to timezones, it can take a significant amount of time with
back-and-forth for issues. Updating early allows more time for issues to
be found, reported, and addressed.
It is currently at Release Candidate stage, so it is expected to be
pretty stable at this time.

users, particularly GNOME and Plamsa users with multiple keyboard input
layouts set up.

This patch release is mainly intended to address a breaking change in the Rust compiler that caused compilation to fail with `--locked` starting from Rust version 1.86.
This patch also includes some terminal rendering performance improvements - namely consolidating some renders and thus reducing the occasional text flicker.

- Due to incompatibility with libpeas-1 unless support for the python loader
is disabled. This, in turn breaks support for many python plugins for projects
still using libpeas-1.
